SenseBody — Overview

SenseBody visual

SenseBody®️

A quiet time to return to your body.

Through small movements, breathing, and the observation of weight shifts,
SenseBody supports a gradual sense of settling and returning within the body.

Before moving strongly.
Before trying hard to “fix” the body.
We begin by observing how the body supports itself, responds, and finds its way back.

Sessions are available in Gifu City and online.
Pilates training is also available.

Who It Is For

A sense of returning, in everyday life

You may find this helpful if you notice:

  • Difficulty finding stability in posture or standing
  • Ongoing tension or physical discomfort
  • A tendency toward shallow breathing
  • Difficulty sensing the inside of the body
  • Sensitivity to stimulation, or feeling easily depleted in daily life
  • A wish to begin movement, but first build a steadier foundation

At SenseBody, the aim is not to suppress reactions, but to develop a felt sense of gradually settling and returning after the body has been disturbed.

We explore, within a comfortable range, the possibility that the body may not need to keep holding itself so tightly.

  • Settling and returning after tension or reactivity
  • Maintaining a little more space, even when stimulation is present
  • Finding a small pause before reaction

For this, we use gentle, predictable movements in a safe setting, and observe the subtle shifts that arise within small changes.
We do not rush change. We carefully observe how each person’s body supports, responds, and returns.

Main Program: SenseBody AXIS

Observing how the body returns, through small movement

AXIS is the core program of SenseBody.
It uses small movements and body awareness in a quiet setting to gently work with posture and movement.

Rather than forcing change or rushing toward a result,
we observe the conditions under which the body’s reactions and support patterns begin to shift.

What SenseBody Works With

For those who would like to know more

SenseBody observes not only posture and movement, but also breathing, support, distribution of tension, and changes in body awareness.

View details
  • Posture, standing, and movement quality
  • Distribution of tension around the joints
  • Breathing, circulation-related sensations, and accompanying responses
  • Patterns that appear in the body in daily life and relationships
  • Integration of perception, including visual, vestibular, and somatic senses

These areas are explored through gentle, small somatic exercises based on anatomical safety.

Programs Beyond AXIS

Toward a wider range of movement

After SenseBody AXIS, additional programs are available to expand movement possibilities.

2|Somatic Pilates®️

Somatic Pilates builds on the sense of axis and bodily structure developed through AXIS.
According to each person’s condition, Pilates and basic ballet-based movement may be included.

3|Clinical Somatics(SMC®️)

While AXIS is a step-by-step program that develops the body as a whole,
Clinical Somatics can also be used as a single 90-minute session and may serve as an entry point.

All programs are offered as body education and movement practice, not for medical diagnosis or treatment.
